9-12th grade

Rhetoric focuses on the art of effective communication and persuasion. In this phase, students learn to express their ideas clearly and compellingly through writing and speech. Building on the knowledge gained in the grammar stage and the logical skills developed in the dialectic stage, rhetoric involves crafting well-structured arguments, using eloquence, and engaging with an audience thoughtfully. The goal is for students to communicate their ideas convincingly, applying wisdom, godliness, and ethical persuasion to influence and inspire others. Sharpening student’s Christian Worldview guides all academic instruction.

Curriculum:

  • The classical subjects of Rhetoric are part of our core curriculum

  • Literature and History classes progress chronologically through the grades and are integrated to give proper context and depth of understanding to these subjects

  • Emphasis on application, synthesis, and communication of information

  • Students learn to articulate and defend their Christian worldview in Theology and Apologetics classes:

Impacting the World for Good

At LSA, students are encouraged to prepare for life beyond college. In grades 9-12, students prepare for the rigors of college and the workforce by taking an increasingly challenging workload. We spark curiosity and teach critical thinking in new ways. While many of our students do pursue post-secondary education, our students are ultimately prepared to thrive in whatever calling to which God leads them to. Whether it be in a classroom, with a toolbox, in the batter’s box, or elsewhere, every LSA alum has the ability to impact the world for good and to be confident he or she is living out their God-given potential.
