Classical Studies at LSA
How the Cycles Work
Each cycle spans four years, and the students progress through the same topics at different levels. For example, a student in Year 1 (Ancient History - Creation through Christ ) in Kindergarten will revisit those same topics in later years with increasing depth as they reach Year 2 (Medieval History) and Year 3 (19th Century). Year 4 (Modern /times) By the time they finish the full cycle, they will have studied each historical period in detail multiple times, each with a deeper conceptual understanding.
These cycles are an integral part of the classical education approach, reinforcing the interconnectedness of subjects and encouraging students to revisit key concepts and ideas at progressively more sophisticated levels.
